So shiny…

There are more beads and things… and shock of shocks, another post within a couple of days!

I have been so bad about posting…

Last year I uploaded and posted most days, and have about 400+ photos of WiP pics on photobucket….

This year I have about 50 so far!!!

Mermaid of the Pearls is progressing, if very slowly. I am up to the point where I can start to see progress, and that she is actually looking more like she should.

I have spent a portion of tonight colour coding my working copies. White is now mostly coloured in on the top half of the pattern. It does make the pattern easier to read, I think.

Most of her skin is done. Now it is filling in the sparklies around it. I pulled out my thread heaven, which I think will help immensely!

Here she is with a flash:

A few different things…

You may remember I started Mermaid of the Pearls quite a while ago… She sat looking like this for a long time:

After tonight she now looks like this:

She is the most annoying mermaid to stitch. I am not sure why, but I am not enjoying stitching her as much as I did Waiting for Ships, or Mermaids of the Deep Blue. There isn’t the same colour flow I think and so you are jumping here, there and everywhere with colours.

And here is an update on Lily – she is a very slowly progressing WIP simply because she may only get 20-40minutes every time I am at work:

Loving Fire Goddess. The ball of fire in her hand is gorgeous:

A little more of her skirt is done too

A walk back through time…

I went back to my family’s house for Christmas and my Mum
pulled out my finishes that have been kept from when I was first
starting, through high school and beyond. I, of course, had to take
photos of different pieces I have done. First piece ever –
Bluebells – this was stitched when I was about 10 or 11. I was self
taught and so not all the x’s went in the same direction… 1989 The centre marking was drawn on
in pencil. 1989 I *think* this was my second
piece: 1990s In about year 10 or so (14
years old) I started the whales. I didn’t know about finishing
then, so I am not sure how I am going to finish it as there is no
fabric to do anything with. I am thinking about stitching it to a
scroll somehow… 1996 And a few other bits and
pieces: 1990s 1990s 1990s I don’t have all my pieces I
have stitched photographed. I did a heap of Australiana ones in
1997 and they were all gifts. I have done a few for my sister and
her children too. Unfortunately though, someone has lost the
birthday sampler I did for my oldest nephew. He is very upset about
it 😦 snow leopard I have decided that I
am going to stitch him another piece from the same collection – the
Ocelot – seen here: Ocelot
While on holidays I did get a little stitching done: A bit of Fairy
Moon: fairy moon And Papillon Creations

Finally updating…

The next month or so I probably won’t be around so much… have things on which will slow down my stitching.

Anyway, this weekend I got some stitching done… and some dyeing but that hasn’t been watched out yet, so no photos 😀

Firstly, the event calendar is about 2/3 done – just have to put dividing lines in to make the pockets…. and his name when I have done that.

And close up of the final motifs – I beaded some of these as I am not happy with my French knots…

And Titania.. Gosh she is a lot of pink!! Almost through my first skein of 818…

Still no scissors…

Here is Fairy Moon again. I am stitching her with wings… just not sure about the moon… it kind of looks odd to me. Will see when I get there….

This is my Lindt chocolate box I am slowly filling with silk spools..

A few varigated silks I bought:

And I got my silks for Fairy moon – shown here with the Hand dyed Heaven Hummingbird fabric. I think it will work 😀 It looks quite pink in this picture:
