I am contemplating Chatelaine patterns… they are very expensive though, both to buy and set up… So I think maybe not…

Ooohh your Cirque des Cercles is coming along so nicely! Every time I see this piece stitched up or being stitched up I get tempted, but I am not a fan of repeatable designs! I’m struggling with Bloomers!

Hehehe you’ve already read my thoughts about the Chatelaines on the LJ comm. I’m actually of three minds to be honest. On the one hand, the cost alone would just stop me, even if I did go for just the DMCs, but on the other hand I want to try atleast ONE Chatelaine with all the recommended specialty stuff, just to see what all the fuss is about.
The third mind tells me “Well you’ve got designers who you love way more, all that money could instead be sunk into getting more of their designs.”

Ah I love being a girl, we over think things LOL!

      Definitely overthink things 😀

I like the Cirques – even though the circles are set into a repeatable pattern every single motif is different and that’s what makes it entertaining. The colours are really what make it or break it though.

Chatelaines are pretty but very expensive to set up properly – and to buy the pattern for in the first place – $45-60Au with the class/mystery online groups… or $30 for the pattern alone. Which is a big part of what puts me off joining one. The Euro to dollar exchange rate is just not that fantastic… I will wait and see what January brings I believe 😀
