I have just put the last bead in… I wasn’t going to finish her tonight but the cat curled up on my lap and was purring away so I just kept beading and beading…
I don’t know how many beads were in her tail, but there were an awful lot of just one colour. It does make her pretty and three dimensional though
Now my net is going monstrously slowly and its taking 40 minutes for my photos to upload…

And because her hands were bothering me Water Goddess backstitched hands

My goal was to get the top half of her completely done this weekend, and I achieved that
YAY!!!!

And because I achieved my goal, I started Water Goddess – 32ct Cotton Candy from EF was the end choice. I am hoping the starquest will work the the air goddess when she is released

Today I started adding the bling to Waiting for Ships after finishing all the backstitch (which actually took a lot longer than I thought – but I think that was partly because I as getting distracted by the movie I had on)… Anyway, her headpiece is gorgeous. I tried to take a close up but I think my hands were shaking a little so everything was out of focus… sigh… maybe better photos tomorrow, but here she is anyway… her blinged up headpiece:

And I started Lily by Nora Corbett – belfast linen Tutti Frutti by silkweaver

Misty Morning Vineyard is up to where I want it to be… Next time will be another layer in the border, but it can go away for a little bit. Everything but the beading in the centre is now done! Backstitch and all…

Basket Weave stitch

It might be a little brighter than other versions of it, simply because of my conversion of it. That said, I like it so far.
Also, as it is a symmetrical piece it can be difficult to keep track of top and bottom so this is what I have done:

And Waiting for Ships – A bit of backstitch and a bit more hair.

She has hair now
Still quite a bit to go though!

And Misty Morning Vineyard:

More playing with dyes – Sunset:

Marine:

I did a few others but need to fix them. They didn’t work out quite as planned

Its really interesting the texture of stitches in cotton versus silk. Silk stitches stay feeling soft, whereas cotton closely stiched gets almost a dense, leathery feel to it. There is a definite tactile difference between the silk and cotton stitches.
Just the shoulders, neck, hair and backstitching to go before I get to beading her

I feel like I might be getting a cold… sigh…
I have been on a bit of a mad spool ordering from HDF – custom colours themed around her Jadeite (which I adore – its the colour in Dragon Opal that I used for my Cirque Des Cercles that is finished). I have been tossing up what to stitch with it when it gets here. I was thinking a spot sampler of some description, but then I came across the Quaker Seasons of Friendship which is huge but gorgeous. I think it has enough motifs to use a variety of jadeite based colours. Now this may change, but it may be the way I go…
